What we are doing

Student Nutrition Program

In partnership with schools and community and corporate partners, Red Cross supports school-based student nutrition programs that boost the physical, social and academic development of students by providing equal access to nutritious food. Programs are universal and must adhere to the Nutrition Guidelines set out by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Programming runs 3-5 days per week and can include breakfast (3 food groups) or snacks (2 food groups)

Early Childhood Intervention Program

This program provides support to families with children who are experiencing developmental delay, or a cognitive or physical disability. As a parent, the program will help you understand the delay or disability and the impact on your family. It provides coaching, role modeling, and activities to address the child's needs. The program provides connection to other services to support the parent as the child transitions into school or a centre-based programming.

Giving Hope to Homeless Youth

The Canadian definition of youth homelessness refers to the situation and experience of young people between the ages of 13 and 24 who are living independently of parents and/or caregivers, but do not have the means or ability to acquire a stable, safe or consistent residence. We have provided support and hope to youth experiencing homelessness. Homelessness and especially youth homelessness are complex social issues that require a comprehensive response.
